Question about our new old boat????

Hi All,

We've just taken delivery of our new old Cruise Craft boat.

We're VERY happy with it after having upgraded from the old stesco tinnie.

Anyway, I have a few things that I am after a bit of info on....

In the first pic you'll see a knob on the front of the forward controls.... What does this do?

I am asuming it adjusts the amount of "play" (for want of a better description)between shifting into gear and the throttle taking up?

I have given it a few twists but couldn't notice any difference....

The second pic is of a "box" in the floor at the stern.

Again - what is this? an inspection opening? bilge access?

Any info all you great folks out there would be very much appreciated!

THANKS!

Graeme

what kind of cruise craft? You got a pic of the boat, did you check the glass? Any rot, what size donk? The first pic looks like a friction adjuster for the throttle, so it makes the throttle more stiff if that makes sense. Not sure what the box is, too small for a kill box???, have you looked inside it?

Thanks,

Haven't looked in the box yet. Will be on the w'end once I get some sikaflex to seal it up again.

Boat is an 88 CC Hustler 570 BR with a 135 opti on the back.

It seems pretty solid with no obvious issues in the floor and the transom seems pretty rock solid too.

Wish we'd bought something like this to start with.. the thing just ate up the chop on the bay on sunday arvo!

wouldn't have dreamt of tackling it in our old ally boat!

Old depth sounder transducers used to be in a box full of some clear thick liquid which for the life of me I cant remember.

Nice looking hull as well

Actually, thats very nice if its the same configuration as this one

Alrighty then.

Pulled off the lid today and.....

As said above it it is obviously a transducer box.

It's a glassed over aluminum box that goes through to the hull, wasn't even sealed.

Unfortunately it ain't going to work for the side imaging.
