queensland Yakkin between Somerset & Wivenhoe Saturday 2nd

Hey fellas,

Rain, Hail or shine i will be hitting up some of the stretches between wivenhoe and somerset. i have driven past some good looking spots a few times that have visible weed beds alot of fallen trees so im keen as mustard.

The sounder and battery are fitted to the yak now so gunna see how it goes.

I will also be posting up a little DIY fitting a sounder to yak post just for those people who need a little guidence.

Anyway if anyone has an input to this location drop a comment.

My brother and I put our kayaks in just under the Somerset wall and kayaked out into

Wivenhoe chucking spinner baits and jackalls. Lots of catfish taking the spinnerbaits which was a huge dissapointment. Best of luck

Check that they are not releasing from somerset or you will have some serious current to deal with.

if the gates at Somerset are still open, fishing the Stanley will be a deathwish. Somerset is currently at 120% and gates are open

sweet cheers for the heads up guys, i know they have been opening gates at winvehoe, i will still hit it up worst case i will launch in a quiet part of the dams themselves and see how we go.

Somerset closed to all waterbased activities so it will have to be catfish heaven.
