queensland Stonefish on a plastic today

Went for a quick afternoon session near coochie Mudlo Island, all three of us were on first cast pulling in three under size snaps.Proceeded to catch many more snaps but all unders, we then shot over to Potts Point. Baitfish were showering the surface and soon we were getting hammered by XOS Pike (we were hoping chopper tailor but least they weren't grinners) we got them on poppers, blades and minced up plastics. My brother got a feisty stonefish and after a couple of photos we sent him back to the depths (getting nowhere near those bloody poisonous spines of course).

No real big ones but on light gear and a fantastic sunset, what a way to end the day

I also caught one in a cast net off the Vic point jetty a couple of years ago at night. It was in semi darkness and looked like a big lump of weed until it moved. Still have night mares about it!!!!!
