Id be a mature age apprentice and Ive really wanting to be a sparky since i was 17 but due to my musical interest i have put it of. I cannot delay it any further. You may be better off contacting Group Training Australia or similar organisation.

Unions and some governments have essentially killed off direct employment of a lot of apprentices/apprenticeships by SME's.

From what I've seen it seems really hard to get an apprenticeship these days. If your strong and fit you could try to get in the Defence Force and do an apprenticeship there; its what I did and I have no regrets
