I am writing to follow up on your submission to the Queensland Fisheries Review. I am pleased to advise that the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries and Minister for Sport and Racing, the Hon. Bill Byrne, today released the Review Team’s report for public comment. Thanks for putting this up Ray. Only managed to get through the exec summary so far. Well written and easy to follow so far. The recommendations all look practical but will come at a cost that a cash strapped govt will struggle to fund, so clause 61 will no doubt generate a lot of interest and debate. It would be interesting to see what the administrative cost of the fishing licence arrangements in NSW is as a percentage of the revenue raised. In other words, how much of the money raised goes directly to fishing related expenditure (and I ask that out of genuine interest as I have absolutely no idea).

Anyway, it looks like a new way of looking at things.
