Having a sick son at home last week meant I could nick out for a lunchtime session.  The big dumb Tilly took a static bread fly sitting on the bottom.

Bread fly's are hilarious. Some nice sized tillies there @Nog, good to get them out!

That's awesome @Nog tilapia on fly!! They seem to be of good size those tillies, get any measurements? The one in the first photo looks about 40cm/1kg.

Yeah @curranboy99. She was certainly a heifer. Thought I'd never get her to take a fly after she refused it many times.

That's would certainly be a rewarding feeling to finally trick the smart bugger even more so on fly. If you don't mind me asking were re these caught in the kedron brook? I haven't caught a single tillie in there this year but the tandans are swarming up in huge numbers around Everton Hills which is great for the natives but odd for the tilapia.

Yep. The brook. I fish mainly from Bradshaw st bridge to hickey park. Look for deeper water mainly and berley with bread to get them going.
