Bass were like greased lightning out at NPD yesterday. I would pull up to do some jigging and the fish would be gone before I could get a blade down to them. I dont know if they are starting to recognize the boat or what.

Picked up several trolling down the dam and managed quite a good haul jigging blades, but it was quite frustrating trying to keep up with the fish as they were well and truly on the move. A school would move under the boat and before you could get the blade to the bottom the sounder screen was empty. So I concentrated on casting out from the boat and hopping or sweeping the blade back to the boat. This covered more water and nailed the bass before they could exit stage left.I have been getting plenty of bass with my sweeping technique, I cast out, let the blade sink to the bottom, then instead of hopping or ripping, I do a long sweep sideways with the rod tip as close to the water as possible. To me (  I dont know about the bass ) it resembles a fleeing bait fish. Anyway managed 43 bass on lures with some good size ones.

Hmmm, maybe you and Ray educating too many bass and the word's got round not to hang out under mobile islands

What sounder are you using Dino. I've seen sounder shots of downscan with fish looking like they are fleeing.

I have a lowrance elite chirp 5 with sounder and down imaging, now I have added a second one with gps and takes inside genisis maps. ( or whatever ) as I wanted to mark a few spots when I go to other dams.
