Thanks mate.

I have not been able to catch Kingfish or Tailor on South Coast. What bait works best and does it have to be fresh?

Personally I prefer hardbodie lures for tailor but if you gonna use bait I would highly recommend yellowtail dead or alive this also works for kingfish to although I’ve never landed kingfish

Hi KhalidMsyed

Welcone to tge forum. It is good you have had some successful trips. For larger fish, you could try fishing baits such as garfish, pilchard, and mullet on a set of gang hooks unweighted. This way, it will float in the current making it look natural.

If you have access, live bait will also work.

Tailor and salmon I would mostly catch spinning metal lures and would occasionally catch kingfish, bonito and even tuna on them as by catch. If I target kingfish I generally used live baits under balloons to avoid snags or weightless baits in a burley trail such as squid, gar or pilchard. These days I would be throwing stickbaits and poppers for them if I still lived down that way as I am better equipped with the gear required now.

Keep us updated 🙂

Thanks for the suggestions.
