advice for st helenas

thinking about launching the boat shorncliffe running out to st helenas tomorro

just wondering whats the best side to fish/crab as its new teritory for me

if you tow to the port of brisbane boat ramp it will cut miles of your run to st helena sorry i have no idea which side fishes better but id guess theres more reef on the north east side if that helps

I'd launch from either Wellington Pt Ramp or the Fishermans Island ramp (as Faulked said).

Fish on the eastern Side, there is a lot more reef there than the western side. If you feel that you can trust the public (I don't:angry:), I reckon that if you dropped your pots on the Western side of Green Island on the way out, on the big sandbank, you'll get heaps more Crabs and less Sharks.

Manly is another close ramp.

St Hel has some good spots, the rock wall that runs for a couple of hundred m on the S/E ish corner is home to Cod and the odd school of squire run through there.

Use your sounder and drop your pots on the depth changes.

Like cowfish said, keep an eye on them
