We got away reasonably on time after having to go back for Grahams Sunnies.

Launched around 7 to again find no bait fish at all. Got one mullet near the Ramu st ramp and a couple of small prawns.

Anchored up in the usual spot about 8.30 and as I had been doing all the work i ended up with the mullet.

Tide was still running out and i immediatly scored the only bully for the day. Around 90cm didnt bother measuring.

Caught another mullet in the cast net which John put on and he had a hit on it but no hookup.

Caught a few catfish on the prawns but either the sharks were not interested or they had gone.

Packed it in at 1pm and went for a bit of a cruise up the river. Found a nice deep hole just upstream from the highway bridges that we may give a go next time.

Here are some photos of all the new structure in the river caused by the floods undercutting the banks and the trees sliding into the river.

We flicked a few live prawns into a couple of them but nothing.

Most of them have 15ft of water around them.Plus a big eddy in the hole in the bank that they slid out of.

nice work on the bullie, im supprisd your live prawns didnt get smashed, atleast by bream, how fresh is it around those parts atm? at the right time those snags might be full o jacks

Suprising that there are so few livies to be had, perhaps it's a bit late in the morning? They were everywhere this morning just after sunrise but split pretty quick as the sun came up.

Didn't worry about photo of shark. Last year had no problems with liveys they were everywhere.Prawns very scarce also maybe still hasnt recovered properly from fresh. Water was still discoloured but tasted salty.

Not much bait around = not many predators around. Good thinking to use some time hunting new spots for next time Ray.

When looking at the pics I was thinking how dirty it looked. Then you said you tasted it. Let us know how you get on at the doctors:P :laugh:

Judging from the pics, the bait schools were further upstream.
