so gave the whole squidding thing a miss last night due to crowd numbers on the jetties...but managed a few fish in newport waterways to keep me occupied....started off with 2 small cod and a few few undersize bream...mrs jimmybob got blown away from somthing good and busted her off...and i managed to find a squire in there!...didnt think i would get one where i was fishing..but was very happy as it put up a great fight on light line and under low drag pressure..some pics... Nice work Jimmybob, I have on occasion caught squire there too, but last night I could only find bream. Lots of pickers around, but ended up landing 4 keeper size and got crabbed a few times too. All released to grow bigger and make lots of "breamlets"!

How did you go avoiding the pike eels.

last time i fished off a mates jetty at night we caught heaps of them, some of them monsters. One I pulled up and he was over six feet out of the water with a lot still in the water and as thick as my leg, lucky he straightened my 4/0 gang and went back in, didn't really want it on the pontoon with me
