Tips 4 Port Rockwall

Hi guys, just wondering if any1 wants to share some tips for fishing the rockwall at the mouth of the river, Have fished their but dont know much about it.

1. Whats the best rigs?

2. what lb line is best suited?

3. what bait?

4. Where to fish, the river end or the bay end. Right in close to the wall or 30metres out?

i have fished the bay end pleaty of times only ever with plastics i got heaps of bream,flattys,squire and cod mostly in the summer months

try plastics or tough baits to beat pickers

minimum weight cast into the rocks and walk it back

or unweighted and cast paralell to the wall

my 2 cents

1. free floating baits - goodbye sinkers - nice light leader - no swivel - half hitch around pillie on a single hook

2. as light as u feel comfy with - i use 6lb braid

3. half pillies served us very well - anything oily will be sweet - tuna cubes will get u a world of bream

4. all along the wall is good from dredge to end where it turns into the bay - last session there myself (3 am to 6am) and a mate cast along the wall and caught all pinkies and chopper tailor- other mate casting out deeper got all bream and chopper tailor

all in all - awesome spot with craploads of potential

Would 10lb braid with 12lb leader be alright? Or should i go a stronger leader?

start with as light as you feel comfortable with - if u get blown away - change

should be fine with that rig, i usually go 8lb with penn 10x 10lb leader. live herring/mullet are a gun bait there for anything, pickers leave them alone usually. floating half or full pillies is good too. definately the bay end of the wall.

Went out last week and broke my drought (see post in this forum for pics) and got a swag of bream along here. 4lb braid, 8lb leader on SPs.

Heading out now, Will try the wall for a couple hrs then go over and get another couple feeds of whiting.
