Fibre glassing Fuel Tanks

Death Ray

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Ok I'll be the one to ask the stupid question. Common sense tells me this can't be done, but I ask anyway.

On my lawn mower where the fuel tank bolts on to frame of the engine the tank and bracket assembly has cracked. The tank is low grade steel. Is it possible to fibre glass the tank and bracket back together. The fibre glass will be towards the top of the tank, but will still have some contact with the fuel.

Any ideas???

Thanks

Andrew

chemiweld is used to fix blown head gaskets on the rough, stuff i would use is called devcon it a 2 part adhesive that sets fricken awesome and can even be grinded once dry. have sealed alota stuff that shouldnt of been with that and has worked a treat. even sealed a cracked auto trans housing with it as a temp fix for some one and still hasnt needed to be replaced yet and that was over 2 years ago lol!
