queensland Mary River....Cod....

Had another invite to head up north to chase some cod in the mary river and didn't catch much but quality made up for quantity with myself landing a 57cm cod on a popper. Pretty happy to say the least.

Weighted about 4kg too.

Caught on 8lb TD Sensor and 10lb leader.

Funnily enough my cod was pretty similar, same line (8lbs td sensor) same leader lbs, similar length..

Bretto how did it fight? I bet it was bloody awesome! Did it find its way back to its hiding spot? Did it brick you at all?

Was one of the most exciting takes off the surface I have seen.

The cod literally climbed all over it and thrashed around on the surface and then slugged it out for a lengthy battle till I got it in range of the lip grippers.

I tempted it out from under a rock ledge and because it came up from the structure it was a pretty clean fight. It didn't pull to much drag because I was stretching the limits of 10lb leader but the power of these fish when they surge toward structure is just crazy. It was out of my yak too!

Missed this fish Well done Bretto, I had a session on the Mary Yesterday, got 3 nice wild bass no Cod unfortunatley
