threadfin tackle ?

with the amount of threadies in and around the brizzy over the past few years, i was curious as to who might use light tackle for them. and i guess the reason. only because i have heard in the mail that, the survival rate is very low, after a long fight on light tackle, even though he swims off ok, myself i don't know if this is true or not. i personally start with 30 lb gear, and usually don't take, hate filleting the things, so let em get bigger, i saw on the news a while ago, there was 1 at 28 kilo caught in the river, would you guys take that ??. well, with the prawning season fast approaching, it would be a handy tip to maybe fish that bit heavier, if releasing for another day, if this is true, does anyone who targets this species now the growth rate of them.

Yeah Rob's got a good point catch n release good but catch release & survive a better !!!

I read one thread a while back where the guy landed a nice tfs and then spent the next 20 mins towing it about til is recovered .. that's commitment to the cause!!!
