queensland top end barra

hi guys

i was just wondering if anyone has experienced going fishing for barra in the top end would love to hear or see pics of the trip i was watching malcom douglas last night and all i want to do now is go barra fishing in the top end or go barra fishing in qld somewhere i could land a 20kg barra look forward to your relpys

Mate, if you're going to the trouble and expense of going to the top end for a barra, do yourself a favour and get a pro guide.

I've caught wild barra up north, but I was living there and it took me a freakin long time to work out where they were and how to catch them.

I'm the same as hairy weasel. Lived there for years but to have consistant results it take a while to figure it out. The best time for barra is mar-apr for the run off. For reefies go in oct-dec for the build up. Definately go with a guide to get an idea off the areas and tecchniques.

If you search "barra" in the fishing reports section for out of state you should find some threads. Werewolf did a Top End report about 18 months ago that was a good read with good pics.

Think he used a guide, from memory, that put them into some decent action.
