had a lot of snip offs this season by mackerel hitting the swivel above the wire trace. i only use small black swivels for this reason and have been losing a lot of fish. the mackerel must be in big numbers and follow thier mate once hooked and see the swivel cutting through the water. hard to avoid and it pays to have a lot of rigs made before you get on the water. has anyone had this trouble happening often

another option, don't use a swivel. buy single strand wire and just tie it direct with no swivel or which may help you increase your catch, just use a heavy leader and you don't have to worry about wire.
