BIG W.A bream

Here are some pics taken earlier this year in WA had a day off work went looking for bream..Place was called ravensthorpe there is nothing around except the mine site.. didnt have anything to measure or weigh but they were big and put up fight..caught them on packet prawns most of the bream had salt scars..

Great size there mate. They would have to be 30cm fork length easily.

Looks like an interesting spot.

Pretty shallow?

Would be fun with shallow diving or even surface lures.

yeah very shallow under 1 metre it was really salty if i had a chance to go back i would take the lures but the mine shut down we caught alot over the whole day there was not a time they didnt bite..

We do, i pulled two out of the river the other day. 32 and 30cm.

In 1m of water would be fun though.

i reckon these are bigger than that though...id estimate at least 35...i caught a 30 the other day and was a baby compared to these

mate there are huge bream in the river, i have seen a 2kg model pulled out

yeh my brother has caught bream at 2kg in the river

these 2kg bream im guessing they are hook shy..do you think there are many around? how would you target them? SP, hardbodys..i catch alot of bream 23-27cm want some decent sizes..

Yeah mate I did alot of work in Karratha for awhile in WA and the average bream over there are our stonker Bream here.. We have them that big but they are somewhat of a rarity.. Great fish! Some of those would be high 30's if not a 40 by the looks.

well all the really big bream i have seen pulled out of the river have been on a whole pillie, a big live prawn and i caught a good 1kg bream on a small sp. both sp's and hardbodies would work for the bigger bream
