First SP success!

Headed down a spot that a workmate of my brother told me about in the poort area.......got a Flattie just over 40cm on my first cast......and that was all.

Still really happy to get my first fish on a SP

reckon he would have been 40-45cm.....I released him as I was told that due to the heavy metal content of the water where I was fishing that you cannot really eat anything you catch.

Well I must admit since I started trying to build up my fishing lit again I've been pretty broke.....doesn't help that work is slow as hell and I'm not even earning that much the last few months.

Still...soft plastics aren't to badly priced, especially compared to using(losing) HB's.

I also just tried my first soft plastic session. 4 good size flatties (50-55). I also had bait out, with not so much as a nibble! I'm sold!

Now I have a SP collection most tackle shops would be proud of!

haha! such a thumper on a first cast - you have to be stoked. Congrats! I just got into sps too - my first was also a flattie, but def much smaller.

it was a 25cm flattie of the hornibrook on a squidy flickbait, i was stoked, cause 5 mins after got another same size

worked my way up from there
