queensland Quick Flick at Dohlies 23-08-09

had a quick flick with a mate at dohlies today.

the spot we fish gets really shallow at low tide so we had about an hour window where we had a chance to get some fish before it was too shallow

flicked a few different plastics before deciding to have a crack with some 4" slams

well first cast my mate was on but lost it, same thing next cast

i decided to try a different spot and he had one last cast and pulled a 33cm flattie.. next cast another around the same size...

lost a few more and then one of the most amazing sights i've seen... as he was lifting his plastic out of the water a flattie launched itself at it and managed to get it in mid air... he went around 35cm

after that there was a lot of hits and dropped fish but no more where landed

all in all a great hours fishing and will give it another hit sometime this week maybe tomorow

Mate nice i be gettin a few under sized ones down there latly both saturday and today but yea good work keep it up

yeh mate an average 3 hours down there usually produces 10 or so flatties with about half being undersize so we expect plenty of small fish when we go down but they are definately fun
