Whilst browsing Big Dans website fishntales of hervey bay I came across a fascinating thread called hairies new project under the boating section.

It details the construction of a 16ft wooden canadian canoe. It is complete with photos and although not finished yet it is really worth having a look at and would be a alternative to purchasing a new plastic one.
