2 piece rod lube?

My new 2 piece el-cheapo surf rod is a bit stiff in the join, is their a suitable lubricant you can use? Or would it damage the rod?

Thats happened to a few of mine, but after a good wash they were fine.

I think it was tiny salt grains or something along those lines making it stiff.

However as far as lube?

I cant see how like even something as simple as vasaline could actually hurt the rod.

And it would be a safer bet than some as its easily washed off if it doesnt work out.

Might try a bit if that silicon based reel lube I've got lying around.
