Clontarf Flathead 9.12.2009

Always vowed to do a fishing session before work and Wednesday was the day. Hit the water at 5am and fished until 7.30am. Target was flathead on the Clontarf foreshore (the Clontarf boatramp side of the Wells). Was joined by my ol' man who was down from Yeppoon. Session started slowly, with only a couple of very small flathead caught on plastics. Moved around a lot and at around 7am, fished up against a set of cofffee rocks. Must have been a school hanging there and we landed around 10 fish. Unfortunately largest was 45cm (and it was kept for a sandwich). Others were in the 35-38cm range, so good on light gear. All fished were caught on the 3" Gulp Shrimp in Molten. The ol' man started slow, but landed 3 fish on platics and got his confidence up on technique.

Have a good weekemd,

Stewie.
