Finally got offshore (thursday 7th)

After having our trip with Smithy cancelled for about the 12th time in row due to bad weather on Tuesday, we were able to head out with Bill Corton on thursday 7th.

We got to the ramp at around 5 am and head straight for the bar in flat conditions. After heading out, the waves and swell was a little sloppy but bearable, we jigged up a few livies and headed out to do some bottom bouncing. First drift we ended up with a few nice squire and a pearlie. Then things went quite and we moved.

Determined to use our jigging gear we dropped down the stellas and saltigas on a few nice pinnicales but the kingies and AJ's weren't out to play, after a few hours we managed 1 kingie boated and another lost at the side of the boat.

With sore arms we decided to head back and do some more bottom bouncing. Once again we managed to pull a few nice pearlies and a very nice parrot.

To finish the day we did some trolling, however nothing showed up, so we decied to head home after a great day out.

Final count for the day we kept 5 nice pearlies, 1 snapper, 1 parrot and a kingie.

Thanks to Bill for a great day out and I would highly recommend his courses for anyone wanting to learn.

Hopefully we will find a day to head out with Smithy soon and finally get great conditions.

Thanks

Cam
