Bribie Bridge 14/4/2007

Went with my gf to Bribie at the crack of dawn on Saturday.

Hire a tinnie for half a day. Started off by castnetting around the bridge pylons but could not catch any bait as it was too windy and choppy to get into a good position.

Decided to fish with WA pilchards and squid under the bridge. Before long we landed the first snapper at around 38cm. The fishing went a bit quiet so we pulled up the anchor and drifted towards bongaree. Heaps of action with about a dozen undersized grass sweetlip, a few undersized squire, 2 flounder and another similar sized snapper caught.

Had a great time although it was very lumpy and windy.

Thanks Angus.

Definitely. They are the red ones near the bridge. Not too expensive and run by a nice guy who writes a fishing column for some magazine so he knows his stuff. 4hours costs $40 and a full day from 5:30am till 5pm is only $60.

They are pretty new for hire tinnies and have cutting boards on the benches and a couple of rod holders.
