Alternative to Google

I am a bit tired of Google's new format.

It no longer gives you a choice of Australian searches or world searches.

Not sure but if you Google Ebay it comes up with the Aussie Ebay, never the US Ebay.

Same with tackle stores, if you Google tackle it comes up with Aussie only.

Try this search engine if you want to get some world wide results.

Dogpile

It might not be great but is seems to capture international sites as well.

Just saying with the AU dollar so close to the US dollar some of us might want to get some fishing gear overseas.

I'm on firefox and it usually comes up with a taskbar to the left that lets you select Australian or not with google. I admit it is annoying but I still find it pretty good. Will have to give dogpile a crack though....

And yeah the old format was heaps better, with the worldwide or aussie option directly underneath....

Pretty sure Dogpile is Yahoo, Google and MSN combined.

Edit: It seems it is Google, Yahoo, Bing and Ask Combined, unsure about MSN.

Yes I tried it and it when I entered "fishing tackle" it only returned Australian sites.

Might be something to do with my history though, I think google gives certain sites preference based on your browsing history or something.

Punch "fishing tackle" into Google and view the results, then do the same in Dogpile.

For me the results are very different.

Though it did seem to return a better range of results than my current Google setup.
