nice catch!!! so thats what a bonefish looks like...caught a small one in me cast net a few weeks back thought it was sum weird lookin mullet:S

ty...the smallest tarwhine was 28cm and the flatty 40cm...and the bonerfish ran faster than a mackeral being chased by a shark..lol :laugh:

Hey Jeff are they the same sort that ppl chase over in the shallows of Florida in the US?? The sort they chase with fly gear?

they certainly are dazza, the grey ghost of the flats, tthey're rated as the hardest fish in the world to catch and the fastest through the water:woohoo:

maybee one day i'll get lucky, they pop up every now and again in the big sandy bays on the qld coast regularly, but not regularly enough to be anything but a fluke

Got its funny how tarwhine just occasionally turn up in schools like that and take over from the bream.

And cool with the Bonefish. I have heard that both Bonefish and Permit are the two most sort after lite gear and fly gear fish. Well done. I have heard of them being caught at double island but this confirms it.

Nice work mate. Must admit a little jealous over the bonefish but happy someone managed one. Great work. What do you use bonefish for then if not for eating..crab pots..shark bait?

Bud: You usually don't keep Bonefish, they are usually a Catch & Release fish. Like Saratoga
