queensland GT's at the Cape

Last Saturday my son James and I had a great morning with these beasties.

We left the ramp at 3.30 am ready for a reef fishing trip but we we past Moreton and saw the surface being busted up we got the spin gear out and headed towards the boil.

We had 3hrs of fun catching and releasing these hard fighing fish.2 where keeped for a feed.

nice size fish mate..great catch...i think they are \"bludger trevally\"..not sure...look a bit different to giant trevally...but still...im sure they gave ya some stick..nice one mate;)

I agree with James, either Bludger or Turrum Trevally, could be Big Eyes but I doubt at that size but you can't really tell with the pictures. Definately not GT's.

Awesome fish though. I wouldn't mind nailing one of those on my light outfits. What lb line were you using?

Well done! Sounds like a great day out! Good to see you got a good result after being flexible enough to chge the game plan! Were you using lures? what sort?
