upper upper albert River Q?

are there red claw or anything like that to be caught in the upper, upper reaches of the albert river?

i am going camping at Darlington Park campsite, and intend on bass fishing the river.

so i thought i might put a pot in. is it worth it?

From what I know, there aren't any redclaw there, but i could be wrong. Definetly bass and also plenty of carp

I do not know but I doubt redclaw. Probably blue claw yabbies.

Blueclaw and make certain that you use pots with 60mm rings as there are platypus there.

good chance all that you will catch in pots are eels and waterrats.

The blueclaw are not thick like the redclaw are in the dams.

Personally I wouldnt bother.

eels and waterrats........... thats 2 reasons not to bother.

Was an idea to pass time while i'm there for 3 days, along with targeting the bass

May not get there yet (this weekend) with all this rain and flooding.

It's a nice piece of water down there, great for kayaking/canoeing. There is a heap of Carp in that system as well and can be awesome fun and much easier to catch then bass

i have been carp fishing a few times in the last few weeks, in a dam thats full of them.

might try my hand at these carp for something differnet

This is a little off topic, but water rats have been renamed as "hydromys" to avoid confusion with domestic rats. it doesn't really make a difference but it makes them look a little better for p.r reasons- after all, they are a fascinating native animal.
