Need help to catch whiting for my 3yo son!

Hey guys,

I am looking at taking my son fishing for the first time in the boat as he is really keen these days. I need some info on catching bait for whiting. As a freshwater fisho i have no clue about bait. I would live to catch blood worms and yabbies. I live on brissie northside and any info on how, when and where to catch some would go along way.
