afo shark social went of to a bad start last year with bad weather and evan worse news coming from my family and having to leave.

afo shark social 2 will be held in the brisbane river and surrounding bay area.

DATE...... Will descuss with members

BAITS..... mackeral, tuna, eel, mullet, taylor, sting ray, slimies, pike ect.

TRACE..... from 50lb to 600lb coated wire or 120lb mono to 800lb mono.

HOOKS..... basicaly any hook will do but i prefer circle hooks as the have a much less chance of a gut hook up, and usually pined in the mouth and released healthy.

RODS AND REEL.... no you dont need a reel that cost you $1500 to catch a shark. any reel from a 2500 size spooled with 3lb on a 1-3kg rod to chase your small 80cm bullies right up to 80 or 130w's matched with a 37kg stick to chase your big sharks.

BOAT BASED..... now if you are wanting to come on this fishing trip and you have a spot free for a decyy, please let someone know about the spot.

LAND BASED... their are plenty of land based option wher you can fish from, hear are afew.

their are many place to fish from the bank on the brisbane river.

KEEPING THE SHARK..... dock the tail and let it bleed out, once dead put it in an ice slurry.

COME ON GUYS AND GIRL,let this avent be huge. i would like to see atleast 20 people chasing sharks. they are great fun to catch and a great for eating.

Any of the dates that Kurt posted will work for me, plus I've got a few days of annual leave that I need to use up before January sooooo...

I'll probably bring my kid along as well, so will probably be land based unless somebody has a couple spots open and would like some help covering cost of fuel.

ok guys if we can all meet at the kirra street boat ramp at 10.00 sat morning, that will be good.

i also will be offering a prize for the best angler for the event based on the vote of the afo crew which will consist of over $150 worth of made shark traces that you will be able to target sharks from small pups to large 5m boys.
