Bait for flattie, bream, whitting ect

Hello everyone i am going for a fish next weekend and i need some good quality bait for some flattie bream and whitting. i am thinking bait like prawns squid pillies can people help me and tell me if the bait will work and of course what are good bait. i am landbased so i need bait that can work from the banks.

Where are you going for a fish? was up the pine today in the kayak. Used prawns and some chicken fillet as bait. Got a couple of bream on the chicken and a big catty on prawns. I find the chicken stays on better than the prawns but that is only my choice. Good luck anyway

mate i am fishing in brissy river around new farm, i am was planning on using sausage i get a couple of bream. do you cook the chicken fillet or use raw?

used raw mate. The bream seem to smash it. When fishing for whiting i normally use worms

mate are worms easy to put on a hook and do u use live or dead?

anything you know of will work mate..just have a variety of baits presented nicely in the water & if the fish are there. theyll' take it.

are you fishing just off newfarm park?? anything will really work, just nothing to big.

Even bits of bread or bits of meat.

Used to slay the bream and flatties with white pillies on gang hooks, whiting you really can't go past fresh worms and yabbies. Have you got a cast net? Fresh live bait from the location you are fishing would be best. Or you could just flick some lures around and have more fun :whistle:

+1 for live bait and gang hooked pilles. I have found they work a treat. Justin, do yourself a favour and invest in a cast net, they are an awesome source of fresh dead and live bait gathering! :woohoo: :woohoo:
