queensland WHYTELINE sportfishing at mud

did a trip yesterday with Jamie who previously only caught flathead on lures. so hitting mud island early it looked like a promising day. although we started out slow without a bite for around 15mins i was getting nervous but i stuck to my plan and we soon had the fish coming aboard every 2nd or 3rd cast. the day consisted of around 30 squire, 25 or so sweetlip, couple of nice bartailed flathead, cod,flounder, GT's and a few moses perch. almost all fish were released with the exception of 1 squire and a few sweetlip. all in all a good day out with plenty of laughs and of course big bust-offs. cheers troy

oh and the GT's were caught using Megabass dog-x jnr's on 1lb fireline, great effort Jamie

from Nov til Mar.you will find alot of them hanging with mullet schools and or trailing them

yeah its a heap of fun, they also try to bust you off on the reef like the bigger models
