Longtail Tuna season

Hi all,

Just wondering when the Tuna season will finish (if it hasn't already). I just read a report on a kayak fishing site that was said something along the lines of 'Tuna season wrap up from Caloundra'. I have read somewhere that they come in close to Bribie in winter, but aren't sure if that means early winter. I read through the 'Longtail tuna - tips and tricks post' but couldn't find anything on how long they hang around for. If they're still around I'll try to get my kayak out soon. Any advice greatly appreciated.

There are some recent reports of them still being caught around Peel.

I got two in the bay from the yak on Ekka Wednesday last year so they could still be round for a while yet but it does vary from year to year.

My old man got his 1st long tail tuna on Saturday (yesterday), over at Moreton Island. He's smile was priceless. Was like a kid in a candy shop.
