problem with my garmin 300c

i was testing my garmin echo 300c in 1 of my back dams and it was going good at first.i could even see a rock i threw off the side make its way down to the bottom.then a mate decided to have a look and was going through all the settings and buggerd them all around.now all it is showing is small blobs half way off the bottom and picking up fish i know that arent in the dam.

i usualy fish in eusturies so i'm in around 2metres but then suddenly drop to 7 or 8,can someone give me there sensitivity levels and what not because i think he has reset the fishfinder as when i turned it back on today to try again i had to setup everything as in what language.does this mean everything has reset itself.

its drivin me mad as i remember when i sore how clear i could see that rock i dropped of the side on the ff and now nothing

my setup is sensitivity high auto, depth auto and 200 khz.

No, but you can sometimes do a reset which will wipe all the settings and it will be like the day you brought it and you can start again with your own settings.

google the sounder make and model and factory reset.

Try page 14 reset.

cheers for the info guys.i'd say it has reset itself so i will have to head down to my local fresh water creek thats alittle cleaner then my dam.would that make a differance also because my dam is just a solid mud colour
