queensland Canal Fishing

As the recent and in all probability the near future weather is rubbish for boating, I thought I might have a fish in the canals in Newport. Firstly, is anyone aware of restrictions to fishing there and secondly has anyone had any luck?

No restrictions in there that I know of. Plenty of the usual species on offer, there is always bream there but they can be hard to tempt on lures like most canal bream. There are a few jacks in there and plenty of cod, hit the rockwalls with hardbodies early morning or late arvo and you'll be in with a shot.
