I went to Fairy Pools last saturday, hoping to get a repeat of the previous weeks catch. but i was shocked from how dead the fishing was. the day was beautifull, no wind , no swell, glassy sea. also no fish

I've read that the glassier the sea is for rock fishing the worse it is. I think it is because the predators like the sea to be churning because it confuses the bait fish and makes them an easy target. If it's all glassed out the baitfish can see the predators easily. Fish like that are efficient feeders and look for conditions that will make life easier for them. This isn't based on experience just a few articles I have read lately.

how did you go the previous week? I fish the area a lot and normally do very well but a few weekends back the water was very discoloured and the fishing was very slow. how is the water clarity now?

i did really well, the previous week, it was really windy, and the water was dirty. but it was good.

i basically fish there on a weekly basas, either fairy pools or just around the corner towards granite bay.

the week before I caught 2 squire, grassy sweetlip, 2 kg golden trevally, a big bream and a elbow slapper whiting on Squid and a big hook! (that was a first for me).

i tried fishing with pilchards but stmaller pickers were taking everithing.

I think ill be going with the misus on saturday high tide at 9 am to practice for the river to reef comp.

yea I alway have that experience on really nice days. the fish just dont seem to bite. but its good early in the morning and on dusk

noosa national park

Yeah Spotto just park at the Noosa end of the national park and walk in. Its a little way, however scenic and nice enough that its far from an hard task. There are plenty of locations to try as well in between the car park and hells gates.
