With Goldie season around the corner and the Variety Childrens comp on soon we have some presentations on Toga and Goldens. Do we dump the Destroyer and go for the Bushpig Boney. Yes folks, there will probably be controversy as well, raffle and a BBQ (maybe even chicken kebabs :)).

See you there.

No worries James, we are only too happy to help. If you ever need some casting lessons give me hoy and we can work something out on the weekends as well. I'm away for these holidays though :), Thailand is calling me.

Norm

Sorry Norm, I must have missed your reply. I'd love to have a casting lesson some time on one of the weekends.

Thanks,

James

The club's AGM is on tomorrow night. After the formal stuff is over, we'll be raffling off some great prizes, including club logo inscribed fly boxes etc.

We will also be outlining the club trips for the following year. In addition, Peter Morse will be up in September as our guest for a weekends casting clinic. So stay tuned.

Sausage sizzle starts at 6:30pm, and formalities at 7pm.

Dues are $55 for those who are thinking of joining.

Remember, the interwebs can tell you where to fish but they can't teach you how to cast, that's what's so good about a club (IMHO).

Cheers and beers

Hi all

This week we will have a focus on basic rig setup. Line, leaders, knots etc. As we have a few new members (awesome!!) it would be good get the basics sorted out.

The Brisbane River Snapper outing was cancelled due to the weather so we need to organise another Sunday.

A reminder that fees are due in the next week also.

As usual we will be having a cast as well.

Chris Waldrop has come up with a great idea for a species competition, so lets "workshop" it fellas.

Looking forward to seeing many of you this Wednesday.

Cheers

Team BFFC

P.S.And another thing. Nial Logan is planning to host a Christmas Island trip in August next year and was hoping it could also count as a club trip. Two so far have signed up, so have a think about it. It really is a top ten bucket list destination!!!!

Club Meeting – 17 Sep 14

WE ARE MOVING!!!!!!!!

Yes, after a couple of great years at the Gorillas we finally have some clubrooms that we don’t have to share with anyone.

New address is

Prentice Park

Thistle St

Lutwyche QLD 4030

It has everything the old place had and more. Looking forward to see the troops next week.

6:30pm for a 7:00pm start

Topic of the night - CXI

Nial Logan has been taking groups to this Bonefish mecca for years now. And as we organising a club trip for next July, there’s no time like the present to start saving and getting organised. Nial will give us lowdown on tackle, tactics and broad spectrum antibiotics.

September Club Trip, Bribie Island Flathead

Sunday (Sept 21st) following the club meeting we will be fishing for flathead.

Meet at the Air Sea Rescue Boat Ramp at 7:00am for a 7:30am departure.

For those on foot, Whitepatch or the flats around Wellsby has some flathead spots and those with boats will probably head up there anyway.

Here are some images showing where we will be fishing, further details / directions will be provided at the club meeting.

We’ll meet back at the Air Sea Rescue at 12:30pm for a BBQ. Please notify if you want some food and drink.

PS. If you haven’t paid dues yet, this is your last chance before we send the fellas over.
