Can't Get Enough!

Yep it’s official….I simply cannot get enough of catching sootys. The habitat in which they are found is awesome. Ranging from crystal clear rainforest streams with cascading waterfalls through to melaleuca lined waterholes – they occupy some great scenery but the biggest draw card no doubt is their fighting ability.

A few weeks ago, a few friends of mine visited from the Gold Coast (Micko, Spaded +1) and had high ambitions of catching a Saratoga. They found an awesome body of water and it is this waterhole where we caught those 27 sooty grunter from my previous blog a fortnight ago. 2 of the boys had actually hooked a Toga on that occasion but the hooks failed to say connected. I had never caught a toga, so I made plans with my young mate Luke Vella to take our kayaks this time and try and land one of these prehistoric looking creatures.

Unfortunately this did not happen today but we still ended up with 12 or 13 Soots....Still a lot of fun

Cheers
