queensland Back into the creek action!

Headed out to a local creek with high expectations considering the rainy overcast day. Started off very well as I missed a surface bass on my first and second cast and after walking to a new pool finally hooked up to a solid bass. Actually ended up being my new PB creek bass measuring in at 46cm! Really happy with that size as it is unusual for such big fish to be in this pool! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Photo doesn't do this fish justice as it was actually just over 46cm but on the mat it looks just under 46cm.

Got 2 more in the next 2 casts and the size kept decreasing

And then got a few more in the next few pools

They kept getting darker in colour as well. This is what they are feeding on at the moment. Came out of his (or her) mouth :silly:

It was a great session and was good to get back out into the creeks again!

Yeah, just running it across the surface so it looks like a bug. The surface strike from the plastic doesn't seem to be anywhere near as aggressive as the surface strike to a sammy 65 or cicada lure.

Great session, now that I'm on my Xmas break, my locals will be getting some early morning and evening attention.

IMO, the more action a surface lure has, the more aggressive the hits tend to be.
