Seeing how I moved to Ipswich I thought I would get myself back into a small tinny for chasing bullies from Kooka Park, rather than driving to the Logan all the time. So I bought this 3.10 stacer with a 15hp Johnson on the back. Not the newest motor (1995 model) but it is tidy and was an auxillary on the peoples yacht so hardly used.

Ran it while looking the first time, no worries. Ran it again when collecting, no worries. Got it home last night and started her up no worries, go inside make myself a sandwich, grab a beer and come back out, not pumping water out the telltale...Bought new impeller today and going to try and put it in myself tonight or tomorrow to see if that fixes it, if not it's off to wherever I am going to take it to get fixed.

Now I remember why I started fishing out of kayaks...

Don't go replacing perfectly good parts Wayne...... Shove a length of heavy mono up the telltale to unblock it ...,, failing that give it a few taps with a hammer. I can't see how an impeller would spit the dummy after just 19 years.

All fixed. Put new impeller in, blew through telltale while bottom leg was off and no blockage. Put it all back together again and she goes like a charm. Hello Brissy River this arvo.

Most impellers only have a life of a couple of years, they go hard whether the motor is used or not, then the little blades start breaking off.

Annoying part is it is a pain the ##$%# having to pull the leg off to replace a $5 bit of rubber!
