After finishing the 3 days of fishing the GC canals last september i posted a report without photos but I have some of the photos in this post. I am posing because i am heading back for 4 days at easter and I want to catch more fish on lures than last time and maybe a shark. I am curious to know what has worked for the local anglers lately and what lures usually work around easter time. Also my cousin caught 2 mangrove jack on live mullet near the entertainment centre a short while ago. Hopefully if you have some info about the area you might like to share it.

Thanks, Dom

I didn't get out for the bass, the weather had been bad all weekend it was stop and start on the weekend. The person I was going with had to pull out too so I couldn't go. I am still keen as a bean though so I will go soon. This weekend I am thinking of fishing newport canals on the kayak for a flattie or cod. I restored to baitcasters on the weekend that I got for a bargain price. Both run great so i am keen to use them. $20 for both, I got and old shakespeare navigate and a shakespeare 6000c barrel baitcaster from gumtree, what a deal! Keen to go to the canals for my first cod, can't wait.
