Two Genetically Different Snapper Stocks Off The Australian East Coast

I found this interesting. I was always told that the Australian Snapper was the same as the NZ Snapper. Seems this probably isn't true? or are they the same as the southern ones?

New research shows there are two genetically different snapper stocks off the Australian east coast, where it was previously believed all snapper were part of a single stock.

Thanks for that link, in itself this is not an unusual set up in some species, for example there are 2 different sets of genetics in play where the east coast and south/west coasts GWS are concerned, the line difference with them seems to be east and west of Bass Straight.
