hi guys, i am heading out to kookaburra park on the weekend and am curious as to the laws on the amount of crab pots and bait traps that i am permitted to use within the brisbane river. if anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated

4 per person over the age of 15 pots must be marked with name and phone number or address (forget which one) on float and pot.

What u mean the operahouse style traps? Dont think so but i dont think u'll do any good their mainly for fresh water, get a castnet if u want live bait.

yeah just using the opera house traps for now, i just had shoulder surgery so i will give the cast net away for a while, it is bad enough just casting. cheers for the advice mate.

By the letter of the law, they are not counted, actual wording is 4 pots for mud, sand or spanner crabs. But I dunno if I would want to be arguing the point with the DPI. You might end up winning in court, but they will have your gear (including boat) until you win.
