Bad day today

Had a shocking day today, I hooked 6 trout for about 5 seconds before they came unbuttoned. Then I broke the tip off my rod and while trying to fix it I saw a raptor of some sort get caught on a fishing lure stuck in a tree and was hanging upside down, so I phoned WIRES and while waiting for the bloke to arrive I hooked the biggest trout if had so far only to have it strip line of the reel and eventually break the leader as I was watching the tip of the rod more then the fish. 

Then when the man from WIRES arrived he was unable to get to the bird and had to shoot it. 

So not a good day at all.

Geez no good for the eagle/ whatever. Was it only hooked in foot? Anyway good seeing your usual awesome trout catches.

I was hear broken when that big one broke free, he was right on top of the water and was half again as big as the one I pulled in the other day. 

I was hoping the bird could bite through the line but unfortunately it tangled itself in the line and the branch.

I was happy to see yesterday arvo that the two breeding adult birds are still OK, they are using the nest so hopefully they will have another batch of young this year.
