wind knots

hay every one i am having a wind knot problem when casting unweighted plastics i have a stradic 1000fi(the new model)with 4 pound nitlon on a gary howard samurai does any one have any ideas how to stop this

well i was going to say get some good quality braid like nitlon if you could afford it but.....

There was a thread on this a few weeks ago with some heated discussions. Basically make sure you're winding your line on with tension whenever possible and leave a few mills of lip on your spool. Unfortunately some reels with some lines seem to knot worse than others.

Use bigger plastics or weighted jig heads.

Keep the line tight between your fingers as you reel in so there is always tension on the line when retrieving

Use Flouro or mono, at that poundage your not getting a lot thinner using braid anyway.
