Evinrude 25hp

Does anyone have any information on engine mounts on 25hp Evinrude 1996 model? I've had trouble with the front mount, it's been replaced 3 times and it just keeps breaking. The front bolt comes away from the rubber section. I've replaced all the other mounts.

Any ideas?

sounds odd, do you use a leg support on the engine when towing the boat? also any pics you can put up might help with diagnosis.

Rubber? they must have changed the mounts since they made my 80's models. They are all aluminium.

not sure what is causing the problem without seeing it but there are allot of aftermarket solid alloy mounts being made! like Feral has in his!

i would replace the upper rubber mounts with solid alloy mounts instead and ya will never have a problem again!

if you cant find any solid mounts premade then maybe try a engineer to make a few for ya!

i would find out whats causing it, the stress is gota be coming from somewhere and may get worse if ignored and alloy mount fitted.

Yeah I use a support when on the trailer. I've tried all different things.

The aluminum mount sounds good. Where does that come from? I'm thinking of putting a bolt right through the whole thing. The motor is so good I don't want to replace it.

No photo at the moment, I must have dumped the faulty mounts:unsure: . I'll post a pic when I've pulled out the mount. Not sure when that will be.

try an auto shop for simmilar mounts that may be a little larger this should still let it run smooth without breaking probably cheaper too:)
