406 EPIRB now Qld L A W Nov 1st

QLD Govt have made it LAW that a 406 is now to be onboard by Nov 1st in Qld.

Also i have these zones

So how far out do you have to be before you need one? and does this apply to paddle/peddle craft like yaks??

Yep, you need an Epirb between 2 and 3 nautical miles off shore. Under 2, not required, over 3, Qld law no longer applies.
