Seeing as the weigh in is being held at colmslie i was thinking of fishing there seeing as my parents dont want to be carting me around all afternoon. So i was just wondering what this spot is like?

Quite nice, was a swimming beach many many years ago.

But is it any good for fishing like what have u caught there?/what is catchable there?

Gerty, its a very easy place to fish, nice beach, two massive fishing platforms.

I have never fished there myself, but the simple fact is, its near the Gateway bridge and the respective channel. So all the species that occur at locations such as bretts, breakfast creek and the sunken wall should logically also occur at this location as well.

Fished there often many many years ago (30 years?) when I was a kid, from there down past the old meat works (where the gateway is now) down to the car ferry. Caught lots of bream and catfish! But that was all there was in the river in those days.
