can anyone tell me the best value for money house boat hire on the gold coast .

boyds bay houseboats on the tweed river. I stayed on the Tweed Princess was a great boat

On the Tweed at the same marina,Berger Houseboats. I've hired from both and can't knock either. The Tweed is a great place too.

I guess it depends on your definition of "value for money". I believe the houseboats on the Tweed are cheaper than those out of Coomera, but I always catch heaps more fish from the northern end of the coast, rather than the Tweed. I spent a week in August last year floating around the Pin in a houseboat from Coomera Houseboats - we took the biggest boat we could get (if you go luxury the female partners are more willing to go a second time ) and caught heaps of fish.

Had a great time - can't wait to do it again. As I said, not the cheapest, but probably the best fitted out boats...and the ladies are keen to go again!

I used broadwater houseboats 3 weeks ago and cost us 750 for the weekend which slept 8 ppl so that works out cheap if u had 7 or 8 ppl. You can get a smaller one for around 400 bucks or a big one for around 1000.

Those sort of things are great if you can split costs with mates, pretty hairy when your springing for your family though!

we hired from boydes houseboats "jean" was like $650 for 3 nights can sleep up to 8 i think and the fishings awsome :laugh:
